YEAR 6 FAREWELL
Tomorrow sees the final day for our Year 6 pupils. They will be leaving the close environment of Marshfield School and entering the busy atmosphere of large comprehensive schools. During their time here, Marshfield has provided them with a sound foundation of knowledge and skills. It is hoped that they will utilise these as they proceed on into their future careers.
All staff and pupils offer their very best wishes to our Year 6 pupils as they proceed on into their secondary education.
YEAR 6 LEAVER'S DAY
The day commences for the parents, relatives and friends of our Year 6 leavers at 9.45 a.m. with the Year 6 final presentation.
Following on will be the Year 6 entrepreneurial activities which range from games to food for purchase by our visitors. The children have made the decision that the profit from their shops, etc. will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust. Please support their ventures.
If, after purchasing from the food shops, you are not full, please bring along your sandwiches for a picnic lunch. Teas and coffees will be available, courtesy of the PFA.
The theme for the afternoon will be a Hawaiian Luau. Children and adults are invited to dress up in appropriate clothing as we have a special event planned for all.
The afternoon will culminate, as traditional, with the final ringing of the school bell as they leave the building for the last time.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible tomorrow.
MUFTI DAY
All pupils are allowed to wear their own clothes to school tomorrow for the final day of the school year. Please ensure that footwear and clothing remains appropriate for the school day.
MARSHFIELD SUPER DRAGON
The Super Dragon decorated with pictures of pupils in our school community is on display in Rodney Parade.
SCHOOL READING BOOKS
Please ensure that any reading books belonging to school are returned tomorrow. Thank you.
SEPTEMBER START DATE
The school reopens for the Autumn Term on Friday 3rd September, 2010.
NEW ROUTINE AT THE START OF THE SCHOOL DAY
From September, the school will open its doors at 8.50 a.m. and pupils will be expected to come into the building immediately. Coats and bags should be hung up and they should make their way immediately to their classrooms. All external doors will close at 9.00 a.m. and any pupil arriving after this time will need to enter through the front door. Should no viable excuse be given they will be marked as late.
Please note that, should pupils arrive before 8.50 a.m. they will not be supervised.
SCHOOL BAGS, WATER BOTTLES, TUCK AND LUNCH BOXES
I would like to remind parents that school bags should be of an appropriate size. Many of our older pupils come into school with very large rucksacks which cause congestion and a health and safety hazard in the cloakrooms.
PE equipment should be brought in on a Monday and remain in school until Friday when it is taken home to be washed.
Water bottles can be brought into school, but should contain water only.
As Marshfield is a health aware school, tuck and lunch boxes should not contain sweets, chocolate or fizzy drinks. Crisps should only be brought occasionally. A healthy tuck shop will be opened in September.
Please note that nuts should not be brought into school in any form. This is due to the fact that we have quite a few pupils with severe nut allergies. Marshfield is a NUT FREE SCHOOL.
PFA UNIFORM SHOP
The PFA has introduced a PE kit into their school uniform shop. The kit consists of a pair of navy blue shorts, yellow tee shirt and a sports bag for the price of £10.
I believe this to be a good idea and provides good value for money. Parents who would wish to purchase the sports uniform should collect a uniform order from the front office.
MARSHFIELD SCHOOL ‘BUS
Some places are available on the Marshfield ‘bus that runs from Lower Marshfield Village. If you are interested in booking a seat for your child please contact Alison Channing on 07824 350659.
MARSHFIELD COMMUNITY
A mobile skate park is to be available at Marshfield Village Hall on the 30th July, 9th August and the 30th August.
PANDA CLUB INSPECTION
I would like to congratulate Miss Mulkerrins and the staff of the Panda Breakfast and After School Club on their very successful inspection.
Well done everyone. Well deserved.
The Headteacher and Staff of Marshfield Primary School would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday.
